Filmmaker Friday NYC is a series of monthly events designed to connect and support the creative community in New York City. Founded by Parker, the gatherings include a filmmaker mixer, a photographer mixer, and private dinners for feature filmmakers—each created to foster genuine connection, collaboration, and growth among local artists.
The roots of Filmmaker Friday NYC go back to 2019, when Parker began hosting informal filmmaker meetups after moving to the city. At the time, there was a noticeable lack of consistent community events for creatives, and these gatherings filled that gap. Although the events paused during the pandemic, the mission remained clear.
As NYC reopened, many artists were hesitant to reengage after over a year of isolation. Parker relaunched the events—now under the name Filmmaker Friday NYC—to help rebuild a sense of community.
All events are free by design. Parker believes that connecting with fellow creatives should never come at a cost.
